We have an evidence-based approach that assist parents to make informed decisions and achieve their personal breastfeeding goals. Our Lactation Professionals have valuable clinical time as well as education specific in human lactation. We offer consultations via Facetime/Google Hangout or in our Puyallup Studio.

During your consultation, we will go over:
  • Personalized Breastfeeding support to meet mama and baby's needs.
  • Assessing latch and positioning baby.
  • Helping parents learn more about baby's hunger cues
  • Helping mama learn about how her body makes milk for her baby
  • How to maintain a healthy milk supply.

We work closely with the family's health care providers, to ensure mother and baby's needs are being met and that everyone is working together to best support mom and baby.

Breastfeeding is a learning process for both mother and baby. It sometimes comes easy, other times it can present its challenges. During those times of difficulty our team of Lactation Experts are there to support and assist families so this can be an easier and more enjoyable bonding experience for mother and baby.

Belly binding, also known as postpartum belly wrapping or abdominal binding, is a practice that involves wrapping the abdomen with a cloth or binder after childbirth. It has been used for centuries in various cultures and is believed to provide several benefits during the postpartum period.

Belly Binding

One important aspect of belly binding is providing support to the abdominal muscles and the pelvic area. After giving birth, the abdominal muscles and connective tissues undergo significant stretching and separation, known as diastasis recti. Belly binding can help bring these muscles back together, providing gentle compression and stability to the core, which may aid in the recovery of diastasis recti. Additionally, belly binding offers support to the postpartum body, helping to alleviate discomfort and promote proper posture. The gentle pressure applied by the binder can provide a sense of security and support to the abdominal region, which can be especially beneficial for individuals experiencing back pain or pelvic floor issues. Belly binding may help reduce postpartum swelling by promoting circulation and lymphatic drainage in the abdominal area. This can aid in the body's natural healing process, assisting in the reduction of fluid retention and supporting the body's return to pre-pregnancy shape.

How soon can you begin belly binding?
For a vaginal delivery, it is typically recommended to wait until any perineal soreness, swelling, or other discomfort has subsided. This may take a few days to a week or more, depending on the individual.
If you've had a c-section or other abdominal surgeries, it's crucial to follow your healthcare provider's guidance regarding when it is safe to begin belly binding. This is usually after the incision has healed sufficiently and there is no risk of disrupting the surgical site or causing any discomfort.

WHAT IS CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) as a system of techniques and diagnostic tools that focus on the soft tissue structures that surround the brain and the spinal cord, as well as the nerves. This light-touch massage, using pressure up to the weight of a nickel, can relax the brain and the body immensely. This soft pressure works well in infants, as their connective tissue is so soft and malleable. Julie, our co-founder, has been practicing Infant CST since 2007 when she was trained at The Upledger Institute.

  • Blocked Tear Ducts
